Vodafone – Unsolicited Paid Flash service

After activating 3G service on my Vodafone mobile, I started getting Flash services,where a click on OK button, even by mistake would debit Rs.10 from my account. I tried to contact customer care on 121, but there was no option under the menu to talk to a customer care agent. Then I called 111, here also there was no menu option for speaking with a CC staff. Only when I opted for billing related information menu, I got an option to talk to a CC staff. In the first stage, I was told that this will be a paid call and I have to opt for this. When I opted for this, the menu was again and again repeated. After a long wait, one Mr. Abhishek spoke to me. When I told him about the Vodafone Flash pop ups, he replied that it will keep coming and I don’t have any option to get rid of that. When, I told him that either I will change my service provider or complaint to TRAI, he replied that I could do that. When, I asked for the conversation reference No., he told after a wait that earlier he gave a wrong information and the pop ups can be stopped by sending an SMS. When

Immediate action against all such service providers by TRAI or the concerned Department. Action against Vodafone for unfair and fraudulent business practice by imposing heavy penalty or any other suitable measure. Strengthening of customer grievance redressal mechanism by TRAI as there is no such mechanism available on TRAI website.
