Why Airtel Post-Paid Mobile Number is Recycled and Allotted to Someone else ?

I am Airtel postpaid user. My number is 8008930506. I was using this number since 2010, earlier as a prepaid user and since july 2012 as a postpaid user. From April I am out of India, and thus on April 2013 1st I applied for the safe-custody service (pay 250 and your number will be deactivated for 3 months) Now As my stay at abroad got extended, I tried to extend my safe custody again for 3 more months, so I mailed and got the information that we are supposed to visit Airtel office and there only they can do this. I asked one of my friend in India to do the same, but unfortunatly whenever he visits the office in Hyderebad (near Kothaguda) they say that come tomorrow or system is down. Finally on 10th of july he successfully deposited Rs. 448 (as requested by the executive there) and he assures that the safe custody is again activated. We have a receipt for the same. Transaction id : 1428891455 Date : 10-07-2013 Time : 18:40 Center : Madinaguda HD, Indira Enterprises Now on August 2013 I decided to check the status of my number, so I dropped a mail to Airtel asking for the current status of my number and below is the response that I got from them.

======================================== We would like to inform you that the services of your above mentioned airtel mobile number have permanently disconnected with effect from 11 July 2013 from postpaid services after 90 days of Safe Custody. Further, if you wish to activate the same number (subject to its availability), we would request you to visit the nearest Airtel Relationship Centre (ARC) and submit the following documents. ======================================== I was shocked to hear this, and Since 17th Aug 2013, I am continuously mailing them explaining them the problem, And again and again I am getting the same response as above. Why should I visit the airtel center again when I have already paid to extend my safe custody. Moreover how can they disconnect my number on 11th July, when they have already received Rs.448 as a payment on 10th July against my mobile number (8008930506). I have already escalated this to all the level in AIRTEL and got no proper response yet.

I want my number and connection back and the compensation for all the pain i suffered.
