WickedLeak” is a company who makes smartphone, tablet pc etc. I bought a tablet pc named ‘Wammy Desire 2’. It has One-Year warranty from manufacturers end. Few days back the tablet’s operating system got crashed and I asked the company to give the necessary service. Though they are ready to provide the service but they have came up with peculiar services clauses which could be an indirect threat to the consumers for avoiding the support. I have saved the mailed-conversation between the Support Team and Myself for future reference. WickedLeak’s Service Clauses (Copied from their email): “Please send the item back by recognised courrier services (Bluedart,DTDC or Aramex).You are responsible for the safe shipping and delivery of the tablet back to us. The shipping costs would have to be borne by you as per the Return Policy.http://www.wickedleak.org/content/1-return-policy.Please note that the tablet should be delivered intact with all the accessories original box & invoice copy provided, without any damage,including transit. Please notify us of the tracking ID/proof of shipment, once shipped, within 48 hours. Please Note that if there is no defect found as claimed by you, You shall be liable to pay 20% of the total product value towards handling and insurance fee.”
When any of our purchased product get damaged, we used to go to the service center for an inspection and service. for that they do not charge a single penny if that product stays under warranty period. But, here the wickedleak is basically asking 20% of the product value (Which is Rs.2,000 for My case) for the primary inspection. So, I don’t believe this company anymore. Because, if I send the product to them and then after that they can inform me that there was no technical fault and to get back my product I have to pay that Rs.2,000/- to them. I do not want be a victim of this company. So that, I want my money back or a credit note or at least a stable replacement.
