I had used a Vodafone mobile Post-paid Connection (No. 98300-43085) from Sept’ 08 to 18th April’ 09 and paid all the dues in time. On 18/4/09 I informed Vodafone through email that I would like to surrender the connection and to do the needful. On 20/4/09 I removed the sim card for the said no. from my mobile and after that I have not used that sim for a single time. I had received a confirmation letter dt. 2/5/09 from them confirming all the facilities (viz. CLIP, SMS promo, Monthly rentals) have been withdrawn against my connection assuring that no bills will be generated if I don’t use the phone anymore and with a request just to keep the connection as “Lifetime Post paid Connection” has been withdrawn by the company.
I had paid the last bill accordingly on 15/5/09 amounting to Rs. 289.18 (For Bill period 27/3/09 – 26/4/09) to square up the account.
But surprisingly, on 27/6/09 Vodafone has raised a bill amounting to Rs. 1435.66 for my usage of the said no. during 27/5/09 – 26/6/09, whereas I haven’t used that sim for a single time. On my protest they provided me with 2 IMEI nos. of the set, from these calls were made. But neither of these 2 IMEI nos. are mine and I provided them my mobile set’s IMEI no. for their reference. Against my strong protest, they confirmed me in writing that the connection ultimately disconnected on 11/7/09 by them.
Again on 27/7/09 they raised another bill amounting to Rs. 662.68 for the period of 27/6/09 – 26/7/09. Now today I got a letter from “Office of the District Legal Services Authority, Kolkata” stating that a petition/case filed against me before Lok Adalat to be held on 12/12/09 at City Couts Building.
Now, my question are that –
1) Without using their service why should I pay their wrong/fake bills?
2) Inspite of my request for surrendering the connection, why did not they act properly??
3) After paying all the dues timely, how can they started raising new bills (which are absolutely wrong/fake) and how they can pressurize me for paying their bills???
4) They provided me with 2 IMEI nos, which are not belongs to me. I also provided them with my mobile set’s IMEI no.. They can easily cross-check the authenticity of my IMEI no. with their old bills (from which I used to make calls before surrendering the connection). Instead, they are constantly pressurizing me with phone calls, mails and reminder letters for paying the bills.
Under this circumstances, I humbly request you kindly to provide me proper guidance, so that I can fight against their hooliganism.
