10 Year Old Airtel Pre-Paid Number Disconnected Without Consent

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am using your Airtel Prepaid service from the past ten years, in-between I have received a Call/SMS saying that for verification purpose you have to re submit the documents or else the connection will be disconnected. So I have submitted the documents more than 5 times & recently I have submitted the documents on May 2013.

But now suddenly on 17th Feb 2014 my mobile network was not there so I contacted customer care & they said for verification purpose we have disconnected the service, if you want the same number you have to visit Airtel relationship store & take a duplicate SIM card & once again resubmit the documents, So I have visited on 25th Feb, 2014 & submitted the document, taken duplicate SIM & they said it takes 5 days for activation.

Till now it is not activated & if I contact Customer care they are saying the number is not available it has been recycled, the same number can be reissued to me

Also I have visited the Airtel Regional Head Office on 19th Mar 2014, they said the number can be reactivated & given back to me

The process to be followed up by the location where the SIM has purchased. Customer Care officer in Regional Head Office said below mentioned ARC 117 has not done the proper work, they have only paired the old number to new SIM card issued by them, and still they have to do FTA, after that it has to be activated.

The same was instructed over telephone by Regional Head Office to ARC117 (Ms. Sudha) & she agreed to do this

I have referred TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) Guidelines on Mobile Number Deactivation Due To Non-Usage policies.

1. As per that the Mobile Number has not to be Deactivation Non-usage less than 90 days.

2. For the purpose of usage, subscribers can make or receive a voice or video call, send an outgoing or receive SMS or use data or any Value Added Services on the network.

3. A consumer whose connection is deactivated shall be given a grace period of 15 days within which he can reactivate the same number
The above Guidelines source: http://trai.gov.in/WriteReadData/WhatsNew/Documents/12-2013-Information%20Note%20to%20the%20Press.pdf

I can prove it that my number is not over crossing the TRAI Guidelines & I can prove that with documentation proof also if required.

Request to take necessary action on the above issue
