Issue # After using product for half an hour, device got turned off automatically. First I thought might be some temporary technical issue, but it started occurring at regular intervals. Till date I am facing the same issue. Device turns off in regular intervals. Further, while using I also notice that Bluetooth function was also not working properly. I tried to switch on Bluetooth function, it showed me message “turning on” for long time, but it eventually did not turned on. Immediately very next day on May 08, 2013 at around 11:58 AM, I registered the complaint with Ebay and opened claim for 100% refund of money by returning the tablet back to seller. The claim ID for the same is 208845. It was told to me that it will take 5 days to respond to this claim. I was so frustrated with the HCL device, I requested for 100% money back. I regularly followed up with Ebay regarding my opened claim and I was every time responded that investigation is still on. On May 12, 2013 ebay replied me back towards my claim that “Product found under Manufacturer warranty”.
Does it takes 5 days to reach to this reply / conclusion that product is under warranty. Does this mean that ebay doesn’t know that product whether product is under warranty or not. Ebay is the mediator between buyer & seller. Ebay gives platform to buyer & seller to complete their transactions. Ebay being world’s renowned ecommerce site, such reply or conclusion was not expected. If there is defect in the product within one day of use, it is responsibility of ebay / seller to refund / exchange the product as per customer’s view. Brand new device or device which is not even one day old cannot go to service center for repairing. The product is not bought with the purpose that immediate next day customer goes to service center for repairing. Ebay asked me resolve my issue with seller directly. I did not buy product directly from seller, I bought it from Ebay. I don’t know credentials of seller personally. It is assumed that seller is on ebay website, ebay might have done some due diligence from their end. If, while purchasing the product ebay was responsible, even in case of returning product due to defect, ebay should be responsible. The reply from Ebay indicates that it is bothered only about sale and not customer complains.
