My name is Narinder Singla. I had an appointment with Dr. P.S. Kohli at 4:46 PM for 15 July 2013. When I reached the hospital, the receptionist told me that I can go to the Doctor’s OPD. I observed that the doctor was not there, so I waited in the OPD. When the doctor came to the OPD, he directed me to go out. Despite the fact that it was the time of my appointment with him, I went out in the lobby and waited to be called by the doctor. But rather than calling me for check-up, Dr. Kohli checked 3-4 other people, DURING MY APPOINTMENT TIME. After waiting for more than half an hour, at5:30, I went to the reception to lodge my protest. The receptionist went see the doctor, and after meeting him, he called me in Dr. Kohli’s OPD. As I entered, Dr. Kohli asked me “What is your problem?” in a rather unfriendly tone. I told him that I had an appointment with him, which he didn’t pay attention to. He told me that “I didn’t give any appointment to you”. I told him that I had received a confirmation for the appointment via SMS, but he rejected the claim. He told me to get out of his OPD and started misbehaving. He was very unruly and unprofessional. Similarly, on my last visit to Dr. Kohli, I had an appointment for 4:30 PM (3 July 2013). As he was checking me, another patient (presumably a known to Dr. Kohli)entered the OPD (yes, this happened while my check-up was going on) and the doctor stopped my check-up that very moment. Dr. Kohli treated that person very warmly, hurriedly ended my check-up and told me to go out. Then, I went to the Nurse’s Station to get my “Patient Advice” but the nurse informed me that the doctor had not yet uploaded my advice and advised me to wait saying that the doctor was busy with the check-up of his relative. After about half an hour, the doctor again called me to his OPD to complete my check-up. He then uploaded my Patient Advice. Both these incidents show the lack of professionalism on the doctor’s part. He was partial against me in the first incident, and didn’t perform check-up AT ALL the last time. The very purpose of taking an appointment is that you are ensured a proper meet with the doctor at a specified time, so that you can expect the doctor’s undivided attention and care. But Dr. Kohli didn’t honor any appointment I made with him. Rather, he has insulted me. Now, not only my treatment has been stalled, but I am also entangled in a tiring litigation. I want that action be taken against Dr. Kohli. The doctor’s details follow- Dr. P.S. Kohli MBBS, MS (Otolaryngology) Regn No.: PMC-31975 Currently employed at- Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala (Punjab) Hospital Tel: +91-175-3989896
I want strict action against Dr. Kohli
