Our Videocon washing machine got completely burnt on 24th Aug while it was in action (washing). It had just completed 3 years warranty period (21/8/2007). The local customer svc say there is a depreciation of 60% and hence I have to pay 60% cost for a replacement machine. It seems the reason for the fire was due to poor safety measures on Videocon washing machine. Had it been in a Flat, the incident could have been more dangerous and fatal. However, Videocon personnel consider this case as an ordinary matter and hence such cold shoulder. Though the complaint was lodged on 27th August, the response received by email only on 4th October. Hence, I had purchased a new washing machine and there is no point in buying another machine from them by paying 60% of the MRP. Is there any way to take action against Videocon in order to get justice?
