Shekhar Sharma, Employee of the company called and said that he is calling from VISA company, having a promotional offer. Promised to send a Blackberry Z30/Tab. Even after repeated clarification why his company is going to gift a costly mobile, he insisted that it is a promotional activity.

I raised a doubt it may be a phishing call, he should mail me the details of his offer. He said that the call was on record at their side and he dropped a mail. The mailed appeared in line wioth what he was saying. He asked to deposit 7799/- to the companies account for a holiday package and the ‘assured gift’. Next day I read the mail carefully and I came to know that it is mentioning about a ‘referral scheme’in which one is supposed to share details of my known persons. If 7-10 persons subscribe their package, the person gets the gift. I immediately wrote them that this matter was not explained to me therefore my money should be returned.

Another employee called me and reassured that as discussed I need not to enter in referral scheme. Assured gift will be sent. When the company couriered the holiday package, there was no detail regarding the gift package. Once clarified, the company denied and withstood with the referral scheme. I have all the mails of the company in this regard.

The sum 7799/- should be returned to my account. 2. Measures should be taken so that the company can not repeat this trap with other customers.
