ACT CABLE NETWORK – faulty remote sold

i wish to inform you that i purchased a new remote from act cable network by paying rs. 150. the same was delivered to my parents. from day one the remote is not working. after repeated calls to the customer care exectuive, they have informed us that i need to buy a new remote, even though we have never used it and is not working from day one.
want a new remote to be replaced”.
