Air India – Flight delay and cancellation

I booked a return flight ticket for New York from Air India. The onward journey flight (AI101, boarding no. 72, date 08-10-2013) was delayed by 1 hour 30 minutes. No interim information was provided to customer. There was no one available to assist to customers. Even every one was made tom wait without any kind hospitality (no water, coffee or snacks, even the customers have checked in with no access to shops). Similarly, return flight (AI 102, boarding no. 229) which was supposed to take off at 3p.m. on 16-10-2013 was delayed by 20 hours to 11 am 17-10-2013. In this instance also no one there to inform people. After waiting for approximately 1 hour in line an Air India officer informed about the cancellation of flight. Again customers have to wait for 2 hours sitting on floor (no chairs available)to wait for bus to hotel (they arranged hotel accommodation). The food in hotel was also not upto the mark. They put rice with shrimp in same bowl with normal rice without any label. This was a thing that hurted the sentiments of hindus and vegetarians.

I want a penalty to be imposed on Air India with warning so that no one in future should experience the same. Even I want have compensation for the inconvenience that I went through which yielded physical, mental and economic problems.
