Air India – Lost Racket Check In Baggage

While travelling from Mumbai to Imphal on 26th October 2013, I lost my badminton racket bearing baggage tag No.AI 8640313. I was suppose to take in as carry on baggage but the executive in the desk told me that I cannot take in as carry on baggage due to some restriction. If I am not wrong I am obeying the rules as per their executive instruction. But when I reached Imphal my racket was not there and instantly i made a complaint to them. I call them and went to airport many times but didn’t get any positive response. So I met the station manager at MG Avenue, Imphal and as per his instruction I wrote an application with the details of the lost racket (including invoice of purchase: please find attachment).

I am not willing to accept it. The compensation amount cannot be made in accordance with the weight. My racket which was too costly weighed only around 300 grams. So according to the calculation I do not even deserve Rs. 225/. As far as my common sense says, once I checked in a baggage it is the airlines’ responsibility to give the baggage back to me at the end of journey. So please help me not to suffer this excessive loss.
