Air India,no service refund my money

My family was supposed to travel on 26-February-2013 from Chandigarh to Gwalior via Delhi. So, I had booked the flights for that date, AI 863 from Chandigarh to Delhi (booking ref. JDM6E) and AI421 from Delhi to Gwalior (booking ref. Y3YG5) for my family: 1. Mr Kanu Chadha (brother-in-law) 2. Ms Arpita M Chadha (sister) 3. Master Arav Chadha (nephew – child aged 5 years and 6 months) 4. Miss Vanya Chadha (niece – infant aged 1 year and 10 months) After the first leg of the journey, when my family landed at IGI Delhi airport on 26-February-2013 they were told by Air India staff that the flight AI421 (i.e. the flight for the second leg of the journey) was cancelled. Air India didn’t offer any explanation / solution to make them reach my home in Gwalior. When I came to know this I called every phone number given on Air India website. But no phone number was reachable. Each of the 20 times that I must have called I heard recorded messages like “We have shifted to a new call center, keep holding the line”, “The dialed number can’t be found”, “The dialed number doesn’t exist” etc. Please also note that since I had booked the said flights my mobile number, telephone number, and e-mail were recorded and registered in Air India database. But no one from Air India called me to tell me that the flight was cancelled.

After my continuous perseverance more than two months back they offered INR 6000/- and made false claims about keeping me informed about the cancellation of the flight. When I demonstrated that each of their claims was bogus they have been quiet. I need a compensation of at least INR 50,000/- (or higher) considering the trauma and agony that my family went through and that I have been going through ever since.
