On 9th August 2013 we decided to have a new broadband connection in BTM stage 1 and to our surprise the Airtel rep from Lakshmi Enterprises, Rajaji Nagar, came on the same day to collect our documents along with Rs. 500 cash. Nanjappa from Airtel’s Lakshmi Enterprises said we can get 4 mbps connection and took the filled form number TBLR 670986 in duplicate along with necessary docs. He also gave us the receipt number 036 of 500Rs in the name of Lakshmi Enterprises (#508 4th Main, 1st stage, 2nd phase, W.O.C Road, Manjunath Nagar, Rajajinagar, Bangalore – 560010). I was happy that I’m going to get a new connection in the next 3 days. But to my disappointment, on 13th August I had to raise a complaint against them that nobody had come to my house for new the installation. They filed a complaint with Complaint Number: 37046102, that my original application has not been uploaded in the system at all. Then finally on 13th August they uploaded our application in the system, and we got a confirmation message acknowledging that they received our docs on 13th August (First lie), application is under process with Installation request number: 16675099, and it will be installed within 3 working days.
Momentarily I was happy that at least after 4 days, I will be getting a new connection. And then it happened, another person from some other franchise of Airtel came to our house seeking docs. We were shocked as we had already submitted the docs, and not to forget 500Rs installation fees. His name was Sunil, and he told us that Airtel received the request only on 13th August, and so he has come to collect the docs. We told him the complete story and he asked us that if we pay him 500Rs more he will install the connection within 3 days. But, we had already paid so we said, no because we had already submitted the docs and money to Airtel through Lakshmi Enterprises, so why should we pay again, and we requested him to go. He still gave us his card and said if you feel you can give us a call. Now, things were beginning to disturb us, as it was 15th August and we were trying to reach out to customer care, and Lakshmi enterprises, Rajajinagar, but we were not in luck. Moreover, the no one from Lakshmi Enterprises had been answering our calls. If ever they did, they’d say they’d look into the problem and call us back but never did. Deadline for Complaint number 37046102 was 17th August so we waited till that time, and called the customer care again on 17th August, complaining that our Airtel Broadband connection has not been installed as yet. They filed another complaint with complaint number 37246022, and said that problem will be resolved within 24 hours, and somebody will connect with us within 8 hours. NONE OF THESE THINGS HAPPENED. Today is 18th August and we are still waiting for some action to happen. We have already called customer care 3 times since morning, and today also another complaint is filed with complaint number 37274798 stating installation will be done within 24 hours. Today one customer care rep told me that there was an update on my complaint on 14th August saying the address was incorrect. I want to know, how could they take the docs and 500rs from my house if address was incorrect (Second lie)? How could two reps from different franchise reach our house if the address was incorrect? How is the address incorrect when I have also submitted the Rent Agreement along with the rest of my documents? Is this how Airtel is managing its franchises and harassing new customers? The statement of a wrong address is a blatant lie. All this while, I have never received a call from Airtel or Lakshmi Enterprises with regards to taking the process of installation further. I just want to know how many days will I have to wait before Airtel will install the broadband connection.
Is Airtel just after taking the applications and not installing the broadband connections? Were they only after some docs and 500rs installation money? Is Lakshmi Enterprises capable of carrying Airtel’s brand name? I have called more than 50 times to Lakshmi enterprises almost 10-15 times a day, and everytime they say that our application is under process and installation will be done ‘tomorrow’ (Third lie). They even told me the same thing on 14th August, when the next day was Independence day and clearly they were lying to my face. Is there anyone in Airtel who is responsible enough to take this matter further? I am very frustrated and have decided to file a case with the consumer court.
