New Airtel Broadband connection complaint Date of registering this complaint with Airtel : 15/10/2014 01:08:07 PM Ref: New installation ref no. 27942192 I had applied for a new Airtel Broadband connection online. Their customer care executives lined up on my telephone and kept on calling me in an attempt to flatter me with their heart felt customer service. Even though there were a lot other options available infront of me, I was deceived by their flattering and decided to take their connection. Immediately a person came to my home, made me sign all the documents, took my photo and required documents as well as connection fee of Rs 1000/-. I received an sms with a reference no as 27942192. Eventhough they had mentioned that a connection will be provided within 3 working days but nothing was provided. No phone calls from any of their customer care camaraderie. Luckily they had provided a toll free number in that sms. I called that number and after waiting for almost half an hour spoke to their executive and came to know that they do not have any coverage in my area and that my money will be refunded within 21 days. Later on they asked for my bank details and told me that they would transfer money to my account online. But since I didnt buy a cheque book from my bank, I was unable to provide Cancelled scan copy of cheque as per their requirement. Till date I have not received any further communication from them and have not received my money back.
Lost 1000/- rs without being provided any broadband connection due to non availability of their network in my area of residence. They have not refunded the amount till date. They didnt do any proper background check as to whether coverage is there in my area of residence or not before collecting new user registration fee. Also scant regard given to refund of money. Refund of Rs 1000/- along with whatever penalty is appropriate as per existant laws for such callous attitude in dealing with customers and for cheating them by collecting money and not providing service. Even after realising that service cannot be provided in my area, refund of amount has not been done.
