Airtel Broadband Shifting – Consumer Review

On 18-07-2016, I had asked for the transfer of my airtel broadband connection from Hosapalya Road to Wind Tunnel Road in Bangalore. I was told that it will take 5 days to complete the request. On 20-07-2016, I got a call from Airtel representative to confirm the new address and that he will visit the place for feasibility check at 5:30 PM. Nobody came from Airtel. I tried calling the person but he didn’t respond. Then I got a call from Airtel saying that it will take 7 days to complete my request due to some technical issue at the backend. After a few days they again called to say that it will take 7 more days to complete the request. At this stage I asked to cancel my request for transfer.

I applied for a new connection on 29-07-2016 from the website. On 30-07-2016, Airtel representative came for feasibility check and confirmed that new connection can be provided. He took the document and sum of Rs 1200/- from me. He didn’t share any application number or reciept for the payment. On 31-07-2016, I got a call from the technical team to confirm the address for installation. On the same day I got call from Airtel saying that they can try and get the old connection transfered. They also mentioned that Rs1200/- will be refunded into my account or adjusted in the bill. They asked for 5 days of time to sort the issue. The installation team didn’t turn up and when I called them they said that there is an open request for transfer and they can proceed till that request is closed. Since 01-08-2016, I have been trying to get the old request closed and everytime they ask for 48 or 72 hours to get back but nothing has moved. I have emailed repeatedly and spoken to airtel customer care numerous times but this issue has not been solved.
