I applied for two postpaid mobile (800588xxx and 8800288xxx) and one broadband connection through M/s Effects by 1430 hours on 25 April 2014. The executive told that the connections will be activated by 2030 hours on the same day. Though verification was over on 25 Apr itself, connections are still not activated as of 1430 hours on 28 April 14. No clear guidelines on activation time not given by staff. Relevant information/ contact no/ emailid are also not given. Mr Kamran, manager at M/s Effects, refused to provide assistance, relevant information and furtehr contact numbers of Airtel. I an a naval officer who came on transfer to Delhi and has no other mobile connection. Without local mobile, I am unable to find a house for myself. Airtel is not providing any number for registering complaints or gain update of connection status. The contact numbers given do not have complaint registration menu. The Airtel website also does not accept complaints as the CAPTCHA image values are not accepted by the complaint registration page.
1. Airtel be directed to include the activation period and relevant policy in the website and leaflet given to customers. 2. M/s Effects be directed to inform customers of the correct details regarding activation and other services. 3. Airtel and M/s Effects be orderd to provide financial relief of Rs 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) be provided to me for the mental suffering I had to and still is undergoing due to non-activation of the connections.
