Airtel – Mobile Number Porting – Review

Dear Sir/Madam I have put the request to port my no.8800234xxx from Airtel to a different network provider. I did generated porting number by sending message ‘PORT’ to 1099. I did got a call from Airtel as they wish to retain the number to which I clearly refused and told Airtel executive that I would like to port the number to a different network provider. Still the number didn’t got released from Airtel network. Calling customer call center multiple times and asking for regional head direct number + ombudsperson details to escalate the matters, I came to know that the request has been cancelled without even letting me know the same. The call center executive even asked me to go to customer care office as they were not having the information and now when calling them back they put my number on hold and after a few minutes the number gets disconnected on its own. I would like to know what action will be taken against the people who are misleading the customers providing them bogus, misleading, wrong information. Email complaint was sent to 121@in.airtel.com in this regard with no revert till now.

I want the number to be immediately released to be used by different network provider. And any amount/bill generated post my number porting request to be waived off. I am not willing to bear any cost generated post Number porting request was issued.
