Airtel Mobile SIM Not Activated after 3 Weeks of Puchase

I purchased an Airtel SIM on 10th of July, 2013. The number is 9958730201. But it never got activated. first time when I contacted Airtel regarding that they informed me that they made a verification call but nobody replied, which is not true as I had no miss calls. Then after few days I contacted the nodal officer. On 23rd they mailed me that again an attempt of contact was made, but with no success. But at that time the phone was with me, and I received no call. They told me that they raised a complaint regarding the activation of my airtel mobile number with the relevant team and the unique number is CACTP30723505959. And they will contact within 24 hrs. Again not contact. I complained again. Same thing happened and this time I was asked to furnish my document details otherwise they can’t do anything. I furnished all my details. after few days I received a mail mentioning they raised a service request regarding the delay in activation of my above mentioned number, vide service request number is CACTP3072968320800. And the relevant team will contact with the details within 24 hrs. Again nothing happened. Then I asked them to furnish someone’s contact with whome I can meet personally with my original documents and get the verification done at the point if they can’t do it this way. Now they stopped answering. Is this how Airtel run their business? And please act without mentioning yet another unique number for another time.
