American Express Gold Card Cancelled Without Info

This has reference to our telephonic discussion with regarding my Gold Charge Card from American Express I have mentioned the entire episode below :- On 29th November 2014 I tried using my card for an online booking but the transaction got declined in same regard I contacted American Express customer care and informed them about the transaction not getting through.

I was completely surprised to know the reason for transaction to get decline was that my card has been cancelled due to a number series problem and the cancellation was done without any prior intimation for card cancellation which is highly unprofessional and not expected from a reputed and an esteemed company like American Express and were not able to provide a any detailed explanation for card cancellation as there was no due payment on card account. I am fortunate enough that I was using my card for an online transaction and not with merchant directly which would put me in an awkward and embarrassing situation . Later I was informed that after my card cancellation a new card has been issued and despatched on my office address and has been delivered on 22nd November to Mr. Inderpreet and not Mr.Inderpal and courier service bluedart handed over the card without checking the ID proof or authorization letter from card holder again which clearly shows another example of overruling the procedures. Whenever a credit card it to be delivered it should be delivered to the holder after checking the ID proof or should be handed over to the person who has a authorization letter for card collection from card holder. I checked with my office no card was delivered at my office and when the same was informed to American Express customer care they told that address I confirmed for verification does not match their records as American Express has been corresponding with me on the same address since last 10 years. They also informed me that my PAN number also doesn’t match their records I simply fail to understand how is this possible that all my records which were there with American Express since last 10 years has been changed without any request.

After the entire incident I had written an email to American Express Customer Care giving the details of the entire episode , next day I received call from the customer care and they informed me that may be there is a technical error in there system will be resolved at earliest but nothing was resolved and problem remained as it is . They also informed me that my card has been synced with another account which clearly shows how negligent they are in handling customer’s information and accounts. As my card was already blocked a new transaction was done on my gold charge card on 5/12/2014 for Rs. 4392 by Celebrity Fitness , this transaction was done on my Card which was blocked on my instruction in September 2014.

First fall the my credit card was cancelled without any prior intimation as there was no due amount on my credit card . If I would used the card some where I would been put in very Embarrassing situation. Overruling the procedure for handing over credit card with checking the ID Proof or authorization letter from card holder. In case card is handed over to anyone without checking these document card can be miss used. Irresponsibility in handling customer account and string customer financial information as my 10 years record with american express were changed without any request and were not matching and clearly shows the customer is being cheated
