Apollo Tyres on Volkswagen Wear & Tear – Review

Run of approx. 5000 kms in a span of 1 year clearly says that the drive wasn’t so long to cause early wear and tear of tyres – Alignment wasn’t that poor that it leads to so bad condition of the tyres in such a short span – Volkswagen Roadside Assistance team highlighted this to be replaced under warranty free of cost. However, dealer contradict the statement – Apollo is not at all “a party to the contract” with the customer. Also, just by looking the tyres of the car at a standstill position at my place in my absence, and without submission of any inspection report, I dont accept the fault of alignment addressed by Apollo team – Even if the issue pertains to that of alignment, customer is not at fault. Having one free service done in Nov – Dec’13, checking of alignment comes under the purview of VW – If there’s no fault from either of the party (Apollo and VW), there’s no point in providing any sort of goodwill gesture (Rs 3,000 out of the cost of approx. Rs.9,000 of both the tyres) – Besides replacement of tyres, there’s much more that, I, as a customer has suffered because of this sort of approach from VW’s end

Both the tyres are so bad in condition, that it has been addressed by Volkswagen Road Assistance team to not to drive the car. This might lead to accident – Risk pertaining to driving in the said condition has also been laid out by Apollo and Volkswagen team

I demand Replacement of both the front tyres free of cost as they fall under warranty – Payment for the conveyance for days I and my family have opted for other mode of transport to travel to office and other places needs to be borne by VW, due to the risk in driving car in the current condition – In case of further delay, compensation over and above replacement needs to be paid by VW for my time and efforts
