We are using Asianet digital TV connection for few years now. The set up box they provided us is from Cisco company and it is not working properly now. We complained the issue and two people came for service and said we have to buy new set up box by paying another 990 rupees. We told them that they are the one who provided us with this equipment and its their duty to rectify the error or provide us with a new set up box, free of cost. They said it’s companies rule and we have to pay 990 rupees. We asked them “how can we be sure about the new set up box they are gonna provide us. What if it will also get damaged after one or two years?”. They again said it’s companies rule and if you want to watch TV, pay rupees 990 and get a new one…. So we called the manager one Mr. Anil to report the same issue. He ended the call in between while we were clearing our points. We called Asianet helpline and told them if they cant solve this issue in a decent manner we will report this matter to Consumer forum. They talked back arrogantly to us and said “you go and file your case”. Asianet is not giving choice for customers to select set box from good companies. It’s their mistake as they provide us with a low quality set up box and now its damaged and they are asking us to pay money again. They are the one who decides which companies’ set up box customers’ have to use. If that is the case, its their duty to service it and solve the problems for their customers. But they are not helping… We requested them for the cancellation of Asianet Digital TV connection and asked them for refund…Dont know how they are gonna deal this issue now.
