On 02.01.14 or 03.01.14 my father met the Branch Manager, Bank of India, Uttarpara (Sakher Bazar) Branch, 66, R.P.M.B. Sarani, Bhadrakali, Dist. Hooghly, Pin-712232, West Bengal for Home Loan of Rs.20,00,000/- and submitted all documents to verify the loan eligibility. After verification he asked my father that I am eligible to get the Home Loan of Rs.20,00,000/- and my EMI will be Rs.16,353/- app.. Scanned copy of his calculation attached herewith for your perusal. After two months Branch Manager asked my father that my loan will be sanctioned Rs.17,54,000/- and EMI will be Rs.17,500/- app.. I am surprising regarding his previous calculation, how can it change so far. Other bank also assured me that I will be eligible for Home Loan of Rs.17,50,000/-, but I did not accept the offer, because my actual requirement was Rs.20,00,000/-. Now I understand that he was just trying to get the business, but he never thought my problem, otherwise he had no information regarding Home Loan. Secondly, It was completely a business deal between the bank and me. Bank should maintained the time norms of service. All services have a specific time schedule, so home loan also a service and it has also a specific time for sanction or reject. As per their rule mentioned in Citizens’ Charter it will take time only 10 days and as per their advertisement it will be finalized within 28 days. But Bank took time for this service near about three months. I would also like to mention here that from the beginning we were helping the Branch Manager to settle the matter early, so that I can apply to other financial institution if they reject my application. Hence, on request of Branch Manager my father handed over the all papers to the authorised advocate of BOI for searching and returned back the searching report on behalf of bank. He also submitted the necessary documents from BOI Uttarpara office to Zonal Office at Kolkata. I told him several times for delaying the loan sanction and at last on 15.03.14 I wrote a letter to return the all papers. Nevertheless Branch Manager promised in writing that it will be finalized by 20.03.14, but failed. Finally on 28.03.14 he mailed me that my loan has been rejected by Zonal Office.
Due to delay for disposal of loan application I have to bear the financial loss of Rs.55,700/-. Accordingly I claim the loss of Rs.55,700/- and Searching Fees of Rs.6,300/-, which I paid to Advocate.
