We need your support in fight against corrupt practices of gas companies and gas agencies, actually they are looting common people after violating all the norms and guideline laid by ministry of petroleum and Govt of India. All the three gas companies (Bharat gas, HP gas and indane) are also violating section 4 (2) &(3) of RTI act 2005 to rob the pockets of common man. As they are charging 4-6 thousands for new lpg connection for single cylinder but the actual rate of new gas connection all across the India is mere 1850 only, they are taking 30-100 rupaya extra for home delivery in small town and in rural area but as per rule home delivery is free of cost upto 12 km from gas agencies. They are selling subsidized lpg cylinders for commercial use. Gas agencies are giving substandard gas chulha to majority of consumer forcefully and they also insist consumers to purchase other stuff from agencies like pressure cooker, refined oil etc … In view of we have decided to stand against this corrupt practice… We have urged govt of India to issue strict guideline to gas companies to fix posters and banners at all gas agencies regarding rate list of new gas connection, stock availability, citizens charter, contact details of public grievance officer and ask all companies to provide full info on transparency portal. Presently gas companies are uploading partial information on transparency portal. Actually they create fake scarcity during festive season to do black marketing but if complete allotments get online this thing can be stopped. Non effectiveness of toll free consumer helpline is also a major hurdle . Govt of India is not organizing consumer awareness program through various media like print, electronic and social media to make them aware about their rights and correct rate list. Like trai for telecom and irda for insurance there is no autonomous regulatory body to stop unethical work of gas companies.
