In our home we have a BSNL landline. About 3-4 years back I applied for broadband. Then came a barrage of issues. It took about a year and half for me to obtain the broad band connection which inlcuded numerous trips to the various BSNL offices including Pattom, Anayara and others. The phone number we had belonged to the “Shankumugham” exchange. Our house was on one side of a railway track and the exchange on the other side. It was stated that because of this the above mentioned exchange wont be able to provide internet and that I had to obtain it from the “Anayara” exchange. After meeting with officers and writing applications many many times i finally got the connection. One day the BSNL folk came to our home. Power had gone out due to some heavy rain. No body with enough technical know how about internet or anything of those sorts were present at home that day. The staff came and placed the modem connected the cables and went. When I reached home i found nothing was working for some reason I don’t even remember. It lay like that for several days before it got fixed. Because of the two exchanges our phone is linked to, when an issue comes and we complain, one exchange people would tell us to report to the other one and so on. This happened quite a number of times over these years. The connection was not anything brilliant. When it was up it was and when it was down it stayed like that. Then sometime later everything seemed OK except for the occasional down time. But problems started to rise again for about 4-5 months continuously now. Either the line is faulty or the net is down. This happens for half the month. The phone line is also not clear. But the billing gets done and we are supposed to pay the bill. When we bring this to notice, some corrections are made to the bill amount, but that too is applied only for the next bill. But the new bill again will have the same amount. Then we go again and tell them this and it gets corrected again. This is happening again and again. I am really fed up with BSNL for treating me like this. This continued till last month. Then came the new problem, I was not getting internet connection at all. My modem was not showing a stable ADSL line(led indicator blinking). Complaint after complaint was given. Finally they decided to come and check. They took the modem and said they tested it. The concluded the modem was faulty. I would like to specify here i have an unlimited plan of 800 or something. I have an ZTE wireless modem router which BSNL provided which has 4 lan ports. They told us we will have to purchase a new one for everything to work. So 3 days back I bought a new Belkin N300 wireless modem router. I had forgot the username and password that BSNL had given me. So my brother took the modem to the BSNL office and they said they had configured it. At home when we tried to connect to the internet, the same symptoms showed. The DSL signal was not stable. Upon
I want the connection to be fixed ASAP(both landline and broadband). I want the bill amount to reflect properly the number of days on which we had connection. If that is not possible, i would want some sort of bill correction. If the earlier modem still works when the line is made right, i want a compensation for the new modem i purchased.
