I would like to bring to your notice a case of forgery and 420 by one of the associate from HDFC ERGO.
I had bought a car on 26-08-2009 for which the finance was done by HDFC bank and the case handler was Ganesh Rawat. He also told me that I can buy the policy from HDFC Ergo at very competitive prices, which no one else would be able to provide. The amount quoted was INR 17621/-, for which I issues a chq drawn on Deutsche Bank, chq # 594238. Besides, this price was also approved by some head the company, the name would be known to Mr Ganesh Rawat.
I got a call from one of the associate(IMRAN) on 24-09-2009 from the DST who told me that HDFC Ergo would not be able to provide the insurance at INR 17621/-, the premium is very less. I asked him how was this amount them quoted to me almost a month back and also I was driving the car without insurance and what I has was only the cover note. To which IMRAN advised that the cover note also stands cancelled now as HDFC never gave me the insurance.
I then asked him what should I do now. He said I would have to issue a fresh chq of INR 17770 and then HDFC Ergo would be able to issue a fresh policy. He then sent an associate to collect the chq on 24th Sept 2009 and also sent the earlier chq issued for INR 17621/-. When I got the chq it was tampered with, someone from your insurance company had changed the date from 26-08-2009 to 21-08-2009. The person who had changed the date also counter signed the chq against the changed date.
