Account Type: CREDIT CARD Account: 220981110004090 Card Provider: SCB (Standard Charterd Bank) DATE OPENED/DISBURSED: 13-05-2005 DATE CLOSED: 25-02-2013 I was using the above mentioned card till 2006. In 2006, I was going out of India for couple of years hence I had paid all the required bills and requested closure. Though the bank contact person confirmed closure in 2006, the account was not actually closed. In Jan 2013, I found the following in my CIBIL report: CURRENT BALANCE was shown as: 11,119 and WRITTEN-OFF STATUS was shown as WRITTEN-OFF. I immediately approached bank and made payment of INR 11,830 on Feb 18, 2013. Bank officials confirmed that CURRENT BALANCE and WRITTEN-OFF STATUS will both be masked from CIBIL report after 45 days and sent me a no dues certificate. I re-checked my CIBIL report after about 70 days and found that CURRENT BALANCE is now 0 however WRITTEN-OFF STATUS is still WRITTEN-OFF. Bank official Raj Shekhar confirmed on telephone that this is an error by Standard Chartered. However no action has been taken to rectify the same. Bank officials are no longer responding to my queries. I have raised dispute with CIBIL. CIBIL has sent query to bank more than one month back for the same however bank has not responded yet.

The incorrect CIBIL entry is having the following negative consequences: 1. My current employer is not able to process my Credit card due to the incorrect negative entry in my CIBIL by Standard Chartered 2. I will face issue in getting any loan / credit from banks
