I received a call on 31/10/2013 saying that I had won a prize but in order to claim it, it was mandatory that I should attend a presentation along with my spouse. They said we have won a dinner set, 1 week free holiday accommodation voucher for family inside India and 1 free voucher for using country club resort facilities for family in Hyderabad. When we arrived at the venue at the appointed time, we were welcomed by a Marketing Executive of Country Vacations, who started explaining the benefits of joining the membership of Country Vacations. Following are the details & benefits explained verbally to us before becoming the member of CV. 1. Booking for Accommodations can be done throughout the year including Purple, Blue, Red and other Seasons. 2. Free Accommodations can be utilize all over India and Seven Asian Countries i.e. : 1) Malaysia 2) Cyprus 3) Thailand 4) Singapore 5) Srilanka 6) Indonesia 7) Dubai 3. We have been said that we can access all 250 Country Clubs in India and 50 Clubs in Abroad including CK 27 without paying any charges or fees and can utilize all the Facilities like Spa, Swimming pool, Gym, Sports, Party halls & Decorations etc., & there will be a Discount of up to 20-50% on Food. After becoming member we came to know that we cannot access CK 27. 4. We have been informed that we can avail the services (point 3 services + 1 week free holiday accommodation) along with lifetime membership. And the membership can be cancelled at any time and they would charge 10 % for cancellation charges. 5. We have been said that up to 15 family members the accommodations will be provided Free of cost, But in the agreement it is mentioned only for 4 members. They did not inform anything about the type of apartment that we can access, Later when we read the agreement we came to know about the type given to us. 6. We have been said that country vacations have their own property in the above mentioned seven Asian counties which is available to us for booking the Accommodations, but it has got its own property only in Dubai, Srilanka, Indonesia and they had not informed anything about the Dial on Exchange. At last, We have been informed about following plans a. 2.35 lakh plan with free lifetime membership with free holiday accommodation for 1 week in a year in India (in their own properties) and globally (with tied up hotels) + 1350 sft plot 60 km away from shamshabad in Srisailam highway b. 1.25 lakh plan with free lifetime membership with free holiday accommodation for 1 week in a year in India (in their own properties) and globally (with tied up hotels) c. 36 K plan with free lifetime membership with free accommodation for 3 days in a year in India. We have chosen the plan C. We were asked to pay 15 K initially and remaining in instalments. We paid them 15 K and the transaction was made using ICICI debit card. The next day when we tried to register the free gift voucher that has been given, the login was not successful. We tried to contact the support/marketing team but in no vain. This made us suspicious and when we checked “country vacations” review on internet, we were shocked to see how may innocent educated people were cheated by this fraudulent company. In view of the above, we seek your intervention to obtain compensation on grounds that we have been cheated into joining the membership of Country Vacations. We request to refund the money we have deposited along with the cheating penalty. Also we would request you to blacklist this company and prevent from targeting other innocent victims.
