Defective New Ceiling Fan of Bajaj Electricals

I am an Extremely Disappointed and Aggrieved Customer of Bajaj Electricals Ltd. I recently purchased One Bajaj Ceiling Fan with the following details – Model / Product – BAHAR 1200 MM Sweep – 1200 MM BIANCO Serial No. – 032298 Batch No. – T03512E Product Code – 250306 Shop from which Purchased – Ahura Mazda Electric, 259-260, M.G. Road, Pune – 411001. Date of Sale – 17-08-2012 Cash Memo No. – 74981 This product comes with a 2 Year Guarantee. I have safely kept both the Guarantee Card (with Dealer Stamp) and the Cash Memo. Soon after this purchase last year, I had to go outstation. Hence, on my return to Pune in April 2013 – I got this brand new ceiling fan installed at my residence here. Within two weeks of the installation – the fan started making loud clicking / friction-like noises (click-click, cut-cut). The noise only grew louder and louder as the weeks passed by. Soon, this loud noise coming from the fan became extremely annoying, unpleasant and unbearable. I called this Company’s Paid Customer Helpline No. 1860-180-6722 several times over the past one month. I was given the following Complaint Numbers (over several days) – 2656644, 2678016 and 2704874. Mr. Shaikh Salman (Service Technician) from the following Service Centre – (City Services, Shop No.15, Opel Square, 646, Nana Peth, Pune – 411002) came to my residence on 23rd May, 2013. He took down the fan. He did not repair or replace any original part, piece or component that came along with the fan. He only made some minor adjustments and tinkered a little with the fan, at my residence itself.

After this, the noise problem seemed to have gone away for that day at least. Two days later, the jarring noise started again. It was lesser than before but still loud / shrill enough to cause irritation and severely disturb one’s sleep. Mr. Shaikh Salman visited my residence again on 28th May, 2013. Each time, he was present at my house for precisely 5 minutes. The fan starts making the clicking / friction-like noise only after having run for a while. Hence during his presence at my home – no noise seemed very apparent or obvious to him. I tried to convince him that the fan does cause annoyingly loud noises after running for a while. That there was a genuine jarring noise issue (serious problem) with the fan that was causing immense discomfort and annoyance. I added to him that I’m an educated person from a professional, defence family background. That I would not unnecessarily bother him and waste both his and my own time. He asked me to make a Video Recording of this noise from my Mobile. He said that if the noise continues – then some parts of the fan like the motor / clamp / rod would need to be changed. When I requested him to replace / repair the defective parts immediately, he clearly told me that he did not have these spare parts with him right then.

I request you to provide me a time-frame within which the major defects (problems) with my New Bajaj Electricals Product will get resolved once and for all (finally) with no further shameless excuses, blatant lies and dishonest delays on this company’s part. If the company cannot resolve (repair) the loud, annoying noise coming from their new ceiling fan, then instead (in all fairness) they should replace their defective, existing product and provide me with a new ceiling fan (as an alternative replacement). That will be just / fair dealing on their behalf.
