DELL India – Improper service and harassment for payment

Dear Sir, I had a problem with the external hinge (folding) and therefore had ordered for an replacement of the top cover (panel) for my DELL studio laptop over phone to Mr. Deepak (from http://www.apexsys.in/ 09899992714) for which the service executive had visited my home at 1200 hrs today (13th June 2013). I do not remember his exact name but his contact no. is 07503712857 for your reference. I would like to bring to your kind notice that the behavior of the person was very absurd and unpleasant , he has even called me to threaten over phone that i should be prepared for dire consequences. End of the day , I have a damaged unusable laptop thanks to the executive’s poor workmanship and failure to warn me of the risks involved in this task up-to the extent of making the working laptop totally unusable. Please go through the below detailed sequence of events and suggest proper action which shall be justified for the loss and sufferings i had to face due to this incident. My laptop was in perfect working condition except for the loose hinges and with a small black spot in the left bottom corner which was also noted by the executive. Further i informed him that the same was discussed with Mr. Deepak and as advised by him, there might be a small crack in the LCD screen , and we can live with it but eventually in due course of time it may need to be replaced but is not mandatory at this point of time. Without any further discussion the executive started to dismantle the system , the struggle he did to identify n trace the connections was clearly indicating his in-expertise in this task, which also led to the breaking of a hinge of the LCD. For which he started asking me to replace the same in turn i asked him to put it back the way it was as the thing was working fine earlier and he continued with his work. By the time he was on the verge of completion , i brought to his notice that there were still some spare screws (approx 5 no.s) lying unused (which were initially fitted in the laptop by DELL) and his reply was that ” company provides a lot of screws extra , all of them are actually not required “. When I insisted that all the screws shall be fitted into their respective positions , he justified that due to a broken hinge 2 are extra and due to damaged caused to the thread (while opening) in the bottom side he is unable to fix the 3rd screw back . Further he could not explain why there are still 2 more screws which are apart from the above explained. This itself shows how is the workmanship or quality of service provided. Finally when he declared that the remaining screws(5 nos.) cannot be put back and we switched on the system for a check, to my shock the whole LCD is totally damaged and my laptop is not at all usable as we do not have display and the system keyboard is not responding. This is clearly a case of mishandling and improper workmanship by the service executive

I demand Complete repair of the damage done due to negligence and poor workmanship of the executive without any cost.My laptop should be in proper working condition as it was before the executive had dismantled it. Proper apology from the company and the service executive for their mistake and misbehavior.
