i took a policy from metlife (policy no.1200700308654) on 2007 and they’ve collected a cheque of INR 25,000 from me as a first installment. later on jan 2010 i received a letter(notice) from them stating that “the cheque xxxxxx has not been en-cashed” (cheque from metlife which i haven’t received till date). then i called the insurance official regarding the details of my policy and the notice. he replied that the policy has been automatically cancelled. this was done without prompting me or without issuing any notice to me by the company. also there is no response about the cancellation of my policy. also there is no cheque issued by the insurance company till date. i’d like to take some actions against the insurance company(like ombudsman) and ask them to return my hard earned money with a suitable interest. can somebody help me sort out this issue against this irresponsible corporate insurance company ? …
