On the 29th of January I, (Mr. Nandu Mohan) the consignor sent a valuable consignment to my friend Mr, Jacob Mani to his residence at Injambakkam, Chennai -115.The brief description of the consignment is as given below, duly packed in a courier worthy packaging .The consignee was Mr. Jacob mani and this pen was a gift for his newly married son from Australia. ITEM: Montegrappa Ball Point pen , Made in Italy DESCRIPTION: Black Resin with Platinum Trims , brand NERO UNO of the make MONTEGRAPPA PACKING LIST : The pen was packed in the original box , with the catalogue , and the pen inside. This consignment was booked at the Karunagapally DTDC , franchisee office and since this was intended as a Wedding Gift , it was booked by EXPRESS courier by paying an amount of Rs.150/= with the assurance that the delivery will positively be done on the 31st January 2015. When the delivery did not happen on the 31st , we were surprised and shocked since the online tracker showed the consignment IN TRANSIT , as it is still showing today. All my efforts to get a proper response from the franchisee , or the Customer Care centres at Chennai, Bangalore or Cochin drew a blank and nobody from any of these DTDC offices were able to give a clear answer on the status of this consignment. The consignee Mr. Jacob Mani contacted the Chennai office and after much efforts and cajoling managed to get the number of Mr. Harshan, the Regional Manager at Cochin. On contacting him. After discussions with the DTDC franchisee at Karunagapally on 2/2/2015 , he arranged a meeting of the consignor , the consignee,s relative and the Area Manager , Kollam Mr. Sheen and the Area Manager Kottayam, on 3/2/2015 at the DTDC office in Karunagapally. The meeting was however not attended by the Franchisee Owner despite all efforts to call him to be present for the discussions. After the meeting it emerged that the said consignment was “MISSING” and there is a strong suspicion of foul play since someone who realized the value of the consignment had possibly misappropriated the consignment. It is about a month since the consignment has gone missing and there is no sign of compensation being offered to us nor a scope of settlement.
I look forward to DTDC replacing the lost consignment as described above which has been committed to the Consignor, and also COSIDER compensation for the enormous amount of mental and physical agony caused to me and the Consignee , Mr. Jacob Mani since both of us had to sacrifice our productive times at work to pursue the “WILLFULLY MISPLACED” consignment booked through the DTDC office in Karunagapally. with numerous unproductive calls and visits to your offices.
