Hi, I have made a booking with easycabs.com over telephone through their call center with booking ID: A060800523 on 8-June-2013 for local transport from Bellandur to City railway station in Bangalore scheduled for pickup at 3.45PM. While picking informed them that we are coming from international air travel and we have 4 international luggage bags and two people and they said they can accomodate in single taxi (sedan – either Madhindra Logan or Toyota Etios) and there will be no extra charges. Each international flight luggage is around 22-23 kg and hence four would weigh totally below 100 kg and there are couple of small bags – around 5-8 kg …total weight would not exceed 110kg, we are so sure of the weight as we just arrived from airport. Their website also lists the same that they allow luggage till 120 kgs and there will be extra charges only if it is beyond that, as these are airport taxis I assumed there would be no problem. But when the taxi arrived at my place, the driver started screaming that he cannot come, he is suggesting we need to book two taxis as they only allow 2 international luggages and shouting that why I have not informed earlier to him( though I have informed to their call centre while booking itself). As our train is scheduled at 6.15 departure and it takes around 1.5 to 2 hrs to reach station I had to call another taxi guy in the last minute and as he does not have sedan type cars, he had only compact hatchbacks, we had to take 2 taxis and I could only reach the station just in time as we started at 4.30PM and had to rush to catch the train. Additionally we had to employ porters though all the luggages had wheels and easily draggable if we had time and pay heavy price as the train is almost starting. As its for my uncle and aunt who are in late 50’s it has become difficult. Hope necessary action would be taken against this cab service provider.
Cab service should be penalised for troubling passengers at the last minute – Sufficient rules regarding luggage and no. of passengers to be put in place so that other citizens do not face similar issues. – As these are airport taxis I dont think if family is travelling nobody would book 1 taxi per person just because each person would have 2 luggages, make other service providers as airport taxis instead of this pathetic easycabs.
