I would like to bring forward the exhorbiant new 2009 rates which are up by 40% from Broadband service providers.
Lower schemes of 256kbps are gone. First country in world which is increasing broadband rates and forcing customers at higher speeds.
I think this is ridiculous on the name of new higher min speeds of 384kbps
W-fi from tata indicom and other operators are also very high at ridiculous old age speeds.
Would say, either these companies do not want to forward real value of money unless they get somebody in competition like reliance communications. To my dismay, reliance and TRAI are bothered about competition in GSM war but no one is exclusively entering the Broadband segment with low pricing. Seems like a case of Monopoly.
This suggest that India will remain behind once again in quality speeds and TRAI will keep counting at 256kbps speed as no of users on broadband from India to show to world.
I think TRAI intervention is needed to keep control of prices even MTNL has raised it to now 999 rs min/month
As per my experience, Indians pay almost the price of 2mpbs for 256kbps when compared with European Operators and 10mpbs when compared with North America. so, this means we are always behind and we shall always be as our biggies are looters and are uncontrolled.
Same RCOM provides beaten down rates on same broadband network worldwide. Why is it so? Are Indian so rich or Population is not that well educated to understand the needs.
