Hotels.com – Unilateral cancellation of confirmed booking

On 15th August 2014, we booked 3 rooms in Naturoville Vedic Resort on Haridwar-Dehradun road through Hotels.com website (Hotels.com Confirmation Number is 118222890113, receipt attached). Despite of taking the full payment in advance and confirmation about the booking, when we reached at the resort, the Naturoville management informed that we have been duped as there is no such booking with them. With 10 people including kids and female members in the group, we spent over 2 hours to get connected with Hotels.com helpline on which we were informed that the accommodation cannot be arranged and offered the refund of the booking amount with no responsibility of compensating for our monetary losses and emotional trauma. Since it was a rush time, the entire group faced lot of challenges in finding alternate accommodation and the entire trip got spoilt. Since then we have sent multiple communications and reminders to Hotels.com with no response from them. I tried visiting the office but the call center team refused to give me the office details.

As this was fully the mistake from Hotels.com, we are looking for written apology and Rs 100,000 as compensation our monetary losses.
