Indiatimes Shooping – Defective Product Supplied

Applicant had been delivered a defective bed sheet along with other items supplied by Indiatimes Shooping on 15th May 2014 vide Order ID 3003220068. Immediately intimation of defect was given to company by the applicant and a case ID 1372102 was generated. As advised by Company rep snapshots showing defect were e-mailed to the company on 15th May itself and again on 16th May 2014.However, instead of replacing defective product, company closed old case ID 1372102 and generated a new ID 1382423 and subsequently rejected the claim saying that as per terms and condition snapshots of defective items are reqd to be provided within 48 hours of deliver and this requirement was not met. During the entire episode at no occasion it was informed by the company that snapshots must reach them within 48 hours.

The Hon’ble Consumer Forum may kindly consider to do justice by ordering :- – Indiatimes shopping (the Company) to replace defective product delivered to the applicant. – Applicant may kindly be awarded compensation in lieu of unnecessary harassment, duping, wastage of time and energy. – Penalty may be imposed on the defaulter company so that it desists from duping the innocent customers in future.
