IRCTC,complaint against railways services

I travelled through Swatantrata Senani Exp. on a journey from Muzaffarpur, Bihar to new delhi on 17th July. My PNR no. is – 661-6856418. I got a confirmed ticket in S5 – 63,64. My complaint is in the regard to the deteriorating condition of the compartment. The berth alloted was completely damaged, with the torn seat covers. There were no side staircase for the side upper berth. No side lights were working in the whole compartment. The toilets were in extremely poor condition. In the western toilet, there was no flush provided, the seat was missing from commode, no running water at 7 am only when it was most required. Also, in sleeper coach, more than 250 people were travelling. By rule, only 72 (or max. 81 if RAC )should be allowed in one coach. There were people who bought a general ticket and travelling in the sleeper coach. people were sleeping on the floor. The TT was coming regularly to convert their general tickets into sleeper waitlisted tickets.

There was definitely an economic loss as we were harassed mentally in this 20 hr. long journey. We felt like cheated, and questioned ourselves that why are we paying money to Railways. For all this? To add on, if Railways management do not follow rules and allow all the waitlisted persons to travel, and if, God forbid, any accident happens, then who will be responsible for this huge loss?

Trains and compartments should be checked properly for cleanliness and maintenance before any journey. If not in good condition, they should be replaced. In Sleeper coach, no persons with waitlisted tickets should be allowed to board the train. Otherwise, there is no difference between a reserved sleeper coach and general coach.
