LG Air Conditioner – Poor quality of product – Review

Purchase Experience: We were looking for a Hot-Cold Air Conditioner to install at our apartment. We tried to contact various LG dealers in Delhi NCR, but did not get a suitable response from any of them. We booked the LG Air Conditioner Model No. ASUW126B1U1 via their on-line portal on 23 May 2014 and were notified that the unit will be delivered only after 20 days due to unavailability. After a lot of follow up, LG Service personnel came to our house on 30 May to put the piping required for the functioning of the AC. We were also told that this product is an old model which is not supported any more, while the sales personnel had promised that this is a new model just introduced in the market. Installation Experience: The product was delivered on 10 June 2014, but no installation took place for another two days. Only after constant follow up and escalation from us, the installation service staff came on 13 June 2014. Product Demo as promised by LG during the sale of the product has still not been provided (as of 23 June 2014). The engineer who came for the installation was not co-operative and declared on his own that the AC will not work correctly, but did not take any corrective measures. The installation was not done correctly, and the product stopped working after merely two days on 15 June. Repair and Service Experience: Upon further complaint, a service engineer inspected on 19 June, but did not provide a solution. Upon further escalation, LG sent someone to refill 22 June afternoon. However, the product still did not work. Upon further complaints, LG sent another service engineer, who concluded on 23 June that the original installation by LG on 13 June was wrong, and the installation needs to be done again from scratch. Overall Experience: During this whole experience, the behaviour of LG service organization was unprofessional, irresponsible, and several false promises were made all along.

1. Return all price paid for the product in full, including installation, materials, and interest. 2. Compensate for cost of any changes to the house interiors and cost of any civil work resulting from the removal, re installation, or replacement of the Air Conditioner, including materials, and including cost of replacement with another model or another brand’s air conditioner. 3. Compensate for the mental torture and physical discomfort caused 4. Compensate for the time wasted dealing with several staff at LG, repeatedly explaining the whole case to them, without any results and solution. 5. Return or Replace the Product with the best possible alternative at no cost (after returning the amount paid for the current product).
