I purchased a 22 Karat gold item on 1.11.2013, Dhanteras day from M.C Sarkar jewellers at AE 336, Salt Lake, Kolkata. They happen to be government approved jewellers. Although the gold rate for 22 carat gold was Rs.2861/- for 22 karat gold in Kolkata, I was charged Rs. 3049 per gram. How can Jewellers over charge so openly without the fear of Department of Weights & Measurements or are all the related officers involved in this ?

Kindly help me in getting me back the excess amount charged by the jewellers.
