Maturity Benefit from Reliance Life Insurance

My fatherin law had purchased Kanaka Shree Single Premium Policy In feb 2005 Policy no 10100221 fm AMP Sanmar for Rs 25000/. Subsequently AMP Sanmar Was taken over by Reliance and we received intimation about the same in March 2006. Finally we received an intimation in Jan 2010 stating the above policy is maturing in Feb 24 2010 and maturity benefit as 14088.51. Had we received the earlier intimation in March 2006, stating the amount available , we would have come out of the policy. Now my father in law being pensioner , is getting only rs 14088/- on an insurance policy of Rs 25000/-. We request the ombudsman to kindly take up the matter with insurance company and refund the amount by deducting minimum administrative charges
