I hold a life insurance policy with MAX NEWYORK LIFE and my policy number is 428421002. I had surrendered the policy on 25.02.2013 and have given all my bank details along with a cancelled cheque so that the amount is credited the the bank. I called on 08.03.2013 in the afternoon to know the status of the payment. They told me that they have dispatched a cheque on 05.03.2013. I requested them to withdraw the cheque and credit it to my account as there is no one at home during day time. My Reference number is 10762279. Again I had called them to know the status on 09.03.2013 around 11:30 am. They told that the cheque was dispatched on 07.03.2013. Again I had requested them to credit the amount to my account. They confirmed my that it was already done and the amount will be credited to my account maximum by 14.03.2013. I called on 13.03.2013 to get updates, but they informed me that the cheque was not withdrawn from the courier company. I requested them and they said that somebody will call by 6pm. For last 15 days, I have not received a single call from their side.
Today I called them up more than 20 times. They told that I had lodged the complaint on 13.03.2013, where my complaint was lodged on 08.03.2013. After asking them several times, they told me that because the name in my cheque was not clear therefore, it was not credited to my account. They gave me the POD number of Overnight Courier. After calling the overnight courier, I had come to know that the cheque was returned on 11.03.2013 as they did not get my address and the phone number was not mention in the courier though I had updated my phone number. After that I informed MAX, but they are showing no interest regarding the matter. I have not received a single phone call from their side. I will be thankful if you please do the needful at the earliest so that the amount is credited to my account as I am facing some financial problem.
