MHADA – Not Providing Basic Services

Since MHADA do not have a 10 digit tel number, I m putting the mobile number of Shri. S. M. Khanapure, Vice Chairman & Chief Officer of MHADA. MHADA is taking monthly maintenance from me month on month but has not provided basic facilities like water man, sweeper or Lift. Its a 7 floor bldg. and the lift is not working for years now. I stay on the 5th floor with my elderly parent and it is very difficult for him and us to climb 5 floors daily. MHADA also charges penalty incase the monthly maintenance is delayed from my side @ 18% per annum. If MHADA can collect maintenance and also collect penalty in case of default, why is not MHADA providing us with the basic services which any bldg in Mumbai is getting.

Currently I’am paying extra amount besides maintenance to avail the basic facilities so as to get daily water and cleanliness in my bldg. Besides, for lift I cant do anything individually as it requires permission from various authorities including MHADA.

Either MHADA start providing me with the basic services for which I am charged for on a monthly basis or stop accepting maintenance and return my maintenance amount with interest for which no service was given. Also start the lift because as per Maharashtra Regional & Town Planning Act 1966, under Part-II of General Building Requirement, Provisions of lifts shall be made for all the building more than 16 m in height. I fall into this category as my BLdg is of 7 floors.
