Hi I purchased a new Microsoft mobile on 20th November, 2015 and it was insured from The New India Assurance Company Limited on the same day – “IRN105265, Insurance activated on IMEI 358608068502861, Total amount paid: Rs.599”. As of now, the phone is in Warranty and covered by Insurance as well. Recently on 25th February, 2016 the phone was not getting charged with my charger – later on I went to the shop and tried with a new charger. Even after trying with a new charger, it was not taking any charge at all and the owner of the shop (from where I purchased the mobile) called the insurance guy named Mr Goutam Das (YMS038). According to Mr Das, I will not get the insurance as the pin of the charging point is damaged which is not under insurance coverage. I already read Mobile_Assurance_User_Guide.pdf in their site and I know all the 38 excluded perils -not sure which one he is referring to in this occasion. For your information – this is not a case of negligence of the beneficiary because peril 11 itself is vague to establish every case as a negligence from beneficiary. Can you please look into this matter? Best regards, Subhadeep Sen
According to insurance guy, I will not get the insurance as the pin of the charging point is damaged which is not under insurance coverage. Neither this is written in clear on their insurance papers nor they are able to define the word negligence properly – everything may comes under negligence.
Can you please look into this matter? I want my mobile is repaired under insurance coverage – otherwise I want my money, for insurance (Rs.599), back as the insurance company is completely fraud.
