MISSELLING OF POLICIES BY KOTAK LIFE INSURANCE

To: Client Service Desk //Kotak/Insurance Dear Sir, A case of Misselling of Policy Number 01462146 is submitted in detail with all attachments as mentioned in the complaint as under for your necessary action please:- FIRST CASE OF MISSELING OF POLICY NUMBER 01462146 BY KOTAK LIFE INSURANCE BRANCH OFFICE IIIrd FLOOR NIRMAL COMPLEX NEAR SEKHON GRAND HOTEL G.T.ROAD JALANDHAR During Jan 2009, I received a call from Kotak Life Insurance Branch office IIIrd Floor Nirmal Complex,Near Sekhon Grand Hotel G.T.Road Jalandhar,(Tele No: 0181-5009704). I was told that our telephone No has been selected for a prize of Gold Plated Jewellary item. To claim the prize, we both, husband and wife will be required to visit the above mentioned office. We visited the office and were sold a policy by Ms Mehak (Mobile No: 09914211340). We were told that we have to pay only THREE PREMIUMS and after completion of fourth year, we would get the invested amount back with BONUS as Declared by the company. Mr Rajprit Singh, the Branch Manager confirmed the plan. We were also given the promised gift (a pair of ear rings of artificial jewellary ) Apart from the policy, we were told of a scheme to submit the lists of telephone contacts to the company. The scheme explained was that if any one buys a policy from our contact list, an incentive of 2% of the first premium would be paid to us by the company. For second premium, the incentive would be 4%.I received an incentive amount of Rs 700/= vide cheque No: 0010407 ex State Bank of India. I submitted 5 lists of contact No’s each of 20 contacts but was paid only one incentive out of 100 contact No’s provided by me. I was sure that a good No of contacts provided by me would have bought the policies. I raised a query with the company vide my mail dated … SANTOKH BHATIA 14 January 2011 13:17 and subsequent mails. (INTERACTION ID NO-2263654).The mails exchanged with the company are attached as MAILS TO AND FROM KOTAK LIFE the same may please be perused. We were shocked to learn that there was no such scheme run by the company

By now we had already paid THREE PREMIUMS. SECOND CASE OF MISSELLING OF POLICY NUMBER 02563131 (Agent Code 60108087) I received a call from telephone No 0172-5212789 stating it to be Chandigarh Office of Kotak Life Insurance, SCO No 913, TOP FLOOR, NAC Manimajra Chandigarh. Mr Aditya Sharma introduced himself to me as Operations Manager of Your Company. He gave his personal contact No as 09316833033. Most of the times he has been posing as speaking from Mumbai. I received few calls from him from Tele No- 1409617408.He told me that the file of our old miss sold policy No 01462146 in the name of my wife Mrs Surinder Kaur Bhatia was with him; fund value of this policy was less than the invested amount but we could get back the invested amount of Rs 1,08,000/=(Three premiums of Rs 36000/= each) with 9.10% intt PROVIDED I INVEST MIN RS 20,000/=PER YEAR FOR 3 YEARS IN GOVT SECURITIES/INFRA BONDS. He said this bond has a lock in period of 5 Years and I can en cash it after 5 years with intt. The invested amount of Rs 1, 08,000/= in the first policy Number 01462146 with 9.10% intt will be paid back after 60 to 90 days (Normal processing time). I agreed to invest in Govt bonds, Mr. Keshav Aggarwal (Mobile No: – 9803777713) sent by Mr. Aditya Sharma got the forms filled for both, old policy No 01462146 and Govt Bonds. He requested me to invest Rs 25,000/=instead of Rs 20,000/=to help him achieve his target, I accepted his request and gave him a cheque for Rs 25,000/=. I was shocked to receive a life insurance policy instead of Govt Bonds as promised. I did not receive any document/letter regarding our old policy No 01462146 as promised by Mr. Aditya Sharma. Since free look period time was running out for new policy No-02563131 and me unable to contact Mr Aditya Sharma, I surrendered the policy.
