MTNL – Fluctuating internet connection

Our internet connection has been fluctuating for the past 2 months. We have lodged complaints regarding this problem in the complaint section of MTNL but to no avail. Only when we call the higher officials do we recieve some form of reddressal, the solution provided however, is short lived. It amazes me how much trouble a person needs to go through to get a problem fixed by MTNL. we were lucky enough to have the number of higher officials, but for someone who does not have such information the experience might be more harrowing. After contacting a higher official we recieved continous phone calls for days each time a different person asking us what the problem was, and offering no explanation of when or if it will be fixed. When the line man Mr. Mahinder came after 3 to 4 days after we lodged the complaint to the GM he told us the problem is moisture seeping into the metre box outside our building. The metre box is without a cover, and it comes as no surprise that moisture can be a possible culprit. He gave up trying to fix the problem and seconds after he left the problem came back. We went after him in the street to call him back, only to hear him shout back that he cannot solve the problem. Incompetence to solve a problem is one thing, rude behavior is another. When I pay for a service I expect to get it, and not hear stories about why the probelm cannot be solved. Mr. Mahinder made himself the victim by blaiming the problem on higher officials who he said were responsible for fixing the connection box. As a consumer I want my uninterrupted service not a report on office politics. There are 3 to 4 conections in our building each facing the same problem. Is MTNL so callous to ignore all these customers? is changing our service provider the only solution to our problem? If that is the case then MTNL has reached new lows of indifference.

I want an uninterrupted internet connection. I want the officials to treat their customers with respect. I dont want to have to go till the GM of an organisation to get my problem fixed.
