Dear Sir/Madam I was a Barclays Credit card holder with Card No. 4339 4882 0459 1508. I settled the the card vide Settlement letter No. SETT-MUM/BCGOLD/41508 dated 23/10/2009. Consequently I made two payments 1. Rs. 3,000 in cash 2. Rs. 18,000 by Cheque. Even after completing my obligations under the settlement, I have not been issued a closure letter by the Bank. On top of that , I have started to get calls all over again for settlement of this card. Even after repeatedly bringing to the notice of the callers about my settlement, the calls are not stopping. I then directly called the Bank helpline and registered a complaint regarding the closure of my card account with Complaint No. 5720889. I received a call for a renegotiation. But no letter was sent. I am not interested in renegotiating my settlement. The bank had issued the original settlement letter after due diligence. I just want my closure letter for the settlement I have already done over 2 years back. After a lot of emails, I was told that the settlement letter was fake. I have the original letter with me and the receipts for payments. To avoid admitting their mistake and/or deficiency on their part, they are accusing me of fraud. Please instruct me whether I should approach the prescribed courts for the re-dressal of this grievous accusation as well as financial loss due to the Bank’s action.
I am unable to take any credit from the banking system due to poor CIBIL score shown due to the pending default of Barclays credit card in spite of paying my settlement. This is causing me mental as well as financial setbacks.
No dues certificate for pending CIBIL closure.
