This is a complaint about Gold Gym’s Goregaon East branch (Mumbai). My one-year membership started on 3rd Jan 2013. I was a regular member till April, then infrequent. My commute from home to work and gym in between took a toll, and I became an irregular visitor to the gym. When I walked into the locker room on 17th Dec 2013 (3 weeks before my membership was getting over) – I discovered that my locker had been broken into and my belongings (sneakers, deo, sipper) were missing. When I pointed this out to the staff on duty, they said they weren’t sure, couldn’t find the manager, would call me later that day and update me. I was getting late for work, hence did not pursue the matter then and there. This was around 815am. Until 5pm, I had received no call. So, I called to follow up. A new person answered the phone, and asked me what the problem was!! I patiently explained the issue again. She said she would check around and call me back in an hour. When she did call back, it was to tell me – “Sorry but we have lost your stuff.” When I asked how/ where I could lodge a formal complaint, she handed over the phone to some Sanjeev Sir – who asked me ALL OVER AGAIN, what the issue was!!! All in all – this is my worst experience in a decade of gymming, across top-rated gyms. Such carelessness, lack of initiative and frivolous treatment given to a member – totally uncalled for. Am never ever recommending this branch at least, to anyone I know.
