I had booked 2 Double Bed Deluxe Non AC Rooms for my stay through the website of GOIBIBO.com for Reba Beach Resort, Puri. At the time of booking – there were separate options for Ground Floor stay (which cost less). I did not avail the Gr. Flr. option and chose the Double Bed Deluxe Non AC option. Prior to booking through the website I also called the hotel to confirm whether the option I’m booking is not the Ground Floor. They confirmed that the room I’m booking is either 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor rooms and not Ground floor. I reached Puri at 540 hrs in the morning and called the hotel to enquire whether check-in is possible, they confirmed in the positive. However, when I reached the hotel, they made us wait for half hour in the waiting corridor. After more than half hour, the reception person – informed me that the rooms they are offering is in the ground floor. When I challenged saying that the booking is not for that – the person said that the money I paid in actual (INR 6567) is for Gr. Flr. and not the above floors. I countered saying that the actual price is INR 9120 and the discount is given by GOIBIBO as I had discount coupon and they shouldn’t be looking into that. However, the person maintained the same tone and said they only receive the money which is minus the discount and that is for Ground Floor. He also said that none of the rooms are available in the ground floor at that moment and we’ll have to wait for another 2-3 hours for rooms to be vacant. Since I was not offered the facilities/amenities I had booked for, I refused to wait for the rooms to be vacant. It was a horrific experience especially when you are travelling with family! We had to look for other alternate hotel to stay during the period, that too after travelling for 12 hours! I had already narrated this whole thing to GOIBIBO telephone agents from 26th August till date. Made atleast 2 calls every week and I was told that I’ll be provided with a response after GOIBIBO gets in touch with the hotel to get their response.
