Renault: Mileading advertisement leading to cheating

We test drove and liked the Renault Duster RXZ E3 plus as part of evaluation of buying a car. At the same time I receive a promotion advt from Renualt saying that they have an offer on Renault cars with benfits up to Rs 50K and insurace. Accordingly with my family visited the Renault showroom on Mysore road, Bangalore with the interest of booking the car on the auspicious day Aug 9, 2013. However, during the meeting we came to know that the offer is not valid for Duster but for every other car of Renault. This came as an unpleasant surprise and loads of dissapointment. There was no wee in the advt. it was mentioned that it is available for only select cars and adding to that the advertisement had the picture of DUSTER giving the impression that it is available for it. On enquiry the dealer says: “They do not get support from the manufacturer on DUSTER for such things hence do not have this offer for DUSTER. It is only to attract customers”. This was echoed in the email response I received from the company in response to my complaint stating ” it is a Marketing practice across brands to highlight the best possible deals that are currently being offered. This is a standard advertising practice with any apparel brands, credit cards, retail stores etc.” This is inspite of there customer care center individuals accepting that this was irresposible of the dealer not to extend. In fact I went ahead and still booked the car two days later with these words and family’s sentiments on auspicious days

We would like to claim the following 1. The published discount (50000+Insurance+ exchange bonus) about 1L+ 2. Rs 1L towards Mental agony and overhead cost for playing with sentiments and wilful misleading
