46inch LCD tv purchased in October 2008 for Rs 84600. In July 2013 screen went white and no picture. Complained to Samsung call centre complaint no 8455408. Service centre engineer of company after visit said that panel needs to be changed and would cost Rs 38000. This is suspected to be a part of global quality issue with Samsung LCD TVs . Samsung had settled a class action suit in 2011 in USA for similar problem. On contacting CEO by email Samsung offered to pay 34% of the original invoice price as they do not have requisite spare part in their stock. I refused the offer being inadequate and demanded either repair of TV set at a reasonable cost or replacement with TV set of equivalent specifications.
